I am one of the decompression babies born in 1961 Johannesburg. My mother told me about this a while back. How interessting. I have achieved more than my other siblings and my 2 children are also high achievers.
Hi Denise
I was born in Johannesburg in 1965. I have unusual abilities/talents and my mother underwent extensive decompression in the course of her pregnancy. I would like to correspond with you if you would like to do so since I have been wanting to compare notes all of my life.
Thanks!
Belinda

I am so glad to have found this website. The information here explained a lot about me and my remarkable life. My mum used the suit sept. 1966 in Johannesburg, under supervision of Prof. Heyns.
She always told me there were only 150 babies like me and that they had stopped the experiment in 1968. Now I know better π

its a miracle to have found you all. I thought I was the only miracle baby from the decompression suit, my mother used under Dr. Feinstein in 1969. I have many miraculous stories to share.
Please let me know if the suit is still available for use, now that we are pregant with our first miracle baby.
My daughter was a decompression baby born in Johannesburg 1970. Very easy birth, although she appears to be of βnormalβ intelligence.
When I tell people about these suits no one believes me! Are they still in use anywhere in the U K?

Hi Mandy,
I was a decompression baby (1962 at Queen Vic), and have recently read up quite a bit about it. I’ve also just watched Prof Nixon’s video – so interesting. From what I have read, it is not used in the UK (or South Africa) anymore. Slovenia appears to be the only country who continued with the practice.

I came across your website quite by chance.
I am based in Hitchin and I see you are from Letchworth.
My mum is 83 and can tell you a lot about the original trials of the decompression suit in south Africa.
